Because I Can
Release Date: April 19, 2011
Vanguard Recording artist Daphne Willis is taking an unconventional approach to her upcoming release Because I Can. The new record will be part of an ongoing strategy to release more music more often throughout the course of a year. Because I Can, produced by Tim Lauer, will be rolled out over a four and a half-month campaign that will feature a series of three two-track digital 45s and will culminate with the physical release featuring nine additional tracks.
The program, entitled “Music Frequencies,” will kick off in January with the first two-track digital 45, featuring the lead single “I Will Be Waiting” and non-album b-side “This Song,” hitting all digital retail outlets on January 11th, 2011. Willis will follow the January digital 45 release with subsequent two-track digital single releases on February 8th and March 8th, 2011. Because I Can, the full-length album will be available on April 19th.
